The primary facet of Larry’s practice is estate planning. Larry counsels clients in working toward their personal and financial goals of transferring their wealth and their values to the next generation. Every family has a different set of circumstances to be considered in their planning and Larry guides his clients through planning options to incorporate these unique circumstances into their estate plan.
He advises clients on the use of wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts and incapacity documents such as powers of attorney and health care proxies. He consults with high net worth clients on sophisticated estate and tax planning techniques, including family limited partnerships and complex trusts.
The other component which Larry focuses his practice on is estate and trust administration. By representing fiduciaries in administering estates, trusts, and guardianships, Larry guides clients through the probate process, prepares estate and gift tax returns and assists with distributions of assets. As a part of this practice, Larry advises both fiduciaries and beneficiaries in the proper administration of trusts, including risk management. He handles non-judicial settlement of controversies, counsels clients through conflict resolution and, where appropriate, oversees trust litigation.
Estate planning can involve deep, personal conversations with clients about family dynamics, their goals and concerns. Larry enjoys counseling clients through these discussions, breaking down complex concepts into understandable explanations to create a solid, well understood estate plan.
