Sandi advises clients on real estate, business, contracts, and other transactional matters, with a focus on protection of assets and tax minimization. Her experience includes complex real estate conveyancing, income tax preparation, preparation of estate planning documents, and representing clients in probate court.
Before joining Orson & Brusini, Sandi served as an associate attorney with James V. Aukerman & Associates for nine years, handling a varied caseload. There, her primarily role was to manage the real estate closing practice, representing lenders, buyers, and sellers of real estate, conducting numerous closings over the years as a CATIC title agent, and personally handling each detail of a closing from preparation of the Purchase & Sale Agreement at the start to wiring funds and mailing checks at the end. She also managed the income tax preparation practice, preparing Form 1041 fiduciary income tax returns for trusts and estates every year, in addition to limited gift tax returns and personal income tax returns. Sandi also prepared and reviewed various business-related contracts and commercial and residential leases, created and dissolved business entities, drafted estate planning documents, and attended probate court hearings on behalf of executors, administrators, and guardians.
Along with her past legal experience, Sandi also worked for the IRS and served for six years as a Senior Tax Editor for Forefield, Inc. (now Broadridge Advisor Solutions), a web-based provider of financial planning content for banks, brokerage firms and other large national companies, as well as smaller financial planners. There, Sandi not only wrote and edited tax content, but also wrote numerous business, insurance, and Medicaid articles as well. She enjoyed taking highly complex topics, simplifying them, and communicating them in in a way that anyone could understand. She continues to enjoy that with respect to law.
In addition to communication, Sandi’s favorite part of the job is personally handling a client’s matter through from beginning to end, until his or her goals are achieved.
